Aadhaar-Services on SMS

UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has introduced a new service called “Aadhaar-Services on SMS”.

The Aadhaar SMS service aims to help Aadhaar Number holders, who do not have access to internet facilities or other Aadhaar services like m-Aadhaar etc. to use various Aadhaar services through SMS.

Aadhaar bearers can avail Aadhaar SMS Service by sending SMS from Registered Mobile to 1947.

Virtual ID generation or retrieval, Locking or unlocking Aadhaar Number etc. are the services currently available in this mode.
