UNORGANISED WORKER

Individuals engaged in unorganised sector; such as a self-employed, home-worker, a daily wage worker represents the unorganised workmen category, also includes a worker from the organised sector who is not covered by any of the Acts proposed for employee welfare. The Ministry of Labour& Employment, Govt. of India, categorised the unorganised labour force as;

UNORGANISED SECTOR

The informal sector; where the rules & regulation proposed by government regarding employment are not applicable or applicable to a low limit.

eSHRAM/ NDUW (National Database of Unorganised Worker)

It is a portal developed by the Labour & Employment Ministry, Govt of India as an action plan to accumulate the information regarding the workers of unorganised sector to facilitate services and welfare activities towards the workforce.

Purpose of NDUW

  • To unify the database of all unorganized workers.
  • To enhance services and schemes towards UWs.
  • To improve the social security and welfare benefits.
  • To frame policies and rules in favour of the UWs.
  • To serve as a comprehensive database towards Governments for tackling any National Crises like COVID-19 in future.

e-SHRAM Card

After successful registration under eSHRAM Portal a 12 digit unique identification number known as Universal Account Number (UAN) will be issued, that can be printed in a card format.

Who can Enrol/Register?

Any individual;

  • Who is an unorganised worker (UW).
  • Ages between 16-59 years.
  • Who is not a beneficiary of EPFO/ESIC or NPS (Govt. funded)

Documents Needed

  • Aadhaar Number
  • Aadhaar linked Mobile number.
  • Bank Account number with IFSC code

Charge Details

  • FREE REGISTRATION through CSC
  • Rs.20/- for updation

eSHRAM/ NDUW Registration through CSC

  • CSC partners with Ministry of Labour & Employment in providing eSHRAM services; Every one obtaining the e-Shram ID through CSC would be able to avail a free life insurance cover of 2 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana (PMSBY)
