Applications are invited from students of class 8th to appear for National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination (NMMSE) for the academic year 2021-22 .

ABOUT
Applications are invited to appear for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) scheme, a scheme implemented by the Union Ministry of Education. Students studying in Class VIII in Government and Aided Schools in the State for the academic year 2021-22 can apply for the National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination.

FEE
There is no Registration fee to apply however service charges may incurr while availing services through service centres.

DATELINE
##Applications can be submitted from January 20, 2022.
##The last date to submit the application is 04.02.2022.

 

After Submission

After submitting the application, the printout of the application and supporting documents should be submitted to the school headmaster for verification.

Eligibility Instructions:

Students must be studying in Class VIII in Government or Aided Schools in the State for the academic year 2021-22.

And their parents yearly income shall not exceed 1.5 lakh.

NOTE**Students studying in residential schools run by the State Government, other recognized schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Examination Structure

MAT: – There will be 90 Multiple Choice Questions section which will test the mental ability. The questions will cover various areas such as finding similarities, classifying, numerical sequences, identifying patterns, and finding hidden forms.

SAT: – This section will have 90 Multiple Choice Questions from 7th, 8th class non-linguistic subjects like Social Science (35 marks), Basic Science (35 marks) and Basic Mathematics (20 marks). There will also be questions involving higher level thought process related to the subjects studied in the lower classes.

 

Eligibility for Scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship, a minimum of 40% marks is required in both the MAT and SAT examinations. (32% marks will be sufficient for SC / ST students).
Must have obtained marks not less than 40% with. 32% marks will suffice for students in this category).

 

Renewal

Scholarships are available from Class 9th onwards on the basis of qualifying examination. Then, in order to continue the scholarship in class 10, candidate has should obtain 55% marks in the 9th class annual examination,

in order to get the scholarship in class 11, candidate has to obtain 60% marks in the general examination in class 10 and in class 12 he has to get 55% marks in the annual examination to get a scholarship. 5% exemption for SC / ST students.

Students who are eligible for the scholarship must submit a fresh application online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) the following year (while studying in 9th class) and a renewal application for subsequent years. Failure to do so will result in the loss of the scholarship.

Scholarship Grand

12,000 / – Per year Will be received.

 

Things to look out for:

Spelling of student’s name, date of birth and Aadhaar number when applying for the scholarship. Scholarship amount will not be received even if minor mistakes are made in the information such as Information submitted before the final submission of the application online. It must be ensured, correct.
